Herndon, VA., July 9, 2026 - PointOne, LLC (PointOne Data Centers) today announced that the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors approved the company's rezoning amendment for the on-site natural gas fuel cell equipment yard planned for Remington Technology Park in Fauquier County, Virginia. The approval marks a significant milestone for the next-generation data center campus, commencing construction following months of engagement with county staff, elected officials, community organizations, and local stakeholders.
Originally approved by the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors in 2018, Remington Technology Park is expected to generate significant local tax revenue, create high-quality jobs, and support infrastructure investment benefiting both the community and PointOne's customers. As the project continues through construction, PointOne will continue working closely with county leadership and community partners to ensure the campus is developed responsibly and in alignment with local priorities.
A defining feature of the campus is its planned use of behind-the-meter fuel cell technology—a cutting-edge energy solution that supports the campus's long-term operational reliability while offering meaningful advantages over traditional power generation technologies. As previously announced, PointOne selected fuel cells following extensive technical, operational, and environmental evaluation, reinforcing the company's commitment to developing infrastructure that is efficient, resilient, and responsive to community priorities.
"Today's rezoning approval is an important milestone for PointOne and reflects the collaborative vision we've developed alongside Fauquier County," said Colin Clish, Co-Founder and President of PointOne. "We appreciate the leadership of the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors and the thoughtful engagement of county staff, local officials, residents, and community organizations throughout this process. Their input has helped shape a project focused on responsible growth, innovation, and long-term investment. As we move into the next phase, we look forward to delivering new investment, job creation, and resilient digital infrastructure that benefits both our customers and the Fauquier County community."
Throughout the entitlement process, PointOne prioritized open dialogue and transparent engagement with stakeholders across Fauquier County, incorporating feedback into the project’s evolution. The company intends to continue that approach as the project advances through the final stages of development as it remains committed to being a responsible long-term partner in the community.
